I can’t recommend anything greater for new parents or as a gift for parents-to-be than this book. Yes, it works. Our son has been sleeping the entire night (8pm to 7am) since he was 7 weeks old (he’s 8 mo. now). I can’t think of a better gift for parents than a full nights sleep (so important, especially for those who will be returning to work!)
While the book does not promote a let-them-cry-til-their-hoarse method, it is also not for the faint of heart. The author recommends not to read it straight cover to cover; it can be best described as a handbook. Basically, read what you need when you need it. To me it was really logical and just made sense.
